Lentic and Lotic

Lentic is an ecological adjective describing organisms or habitats situated in non-moving fresh water that includes ponds, swamps, bogs, lagoons, and lakes. The opposite is lotic, which includes moving fresh water as in a run, creek, brook, spring, stream, channel, or river.
